My name is Tine and with my better half, René, we got our first cat in 2006. A "Maine Coon". For a long time I had been looking for the perfect cat, and when the mother of one of my friends got a Maine Coon, I immediately fell in love with the big and funny cat. Kahla opened my eyes to a new world. I just had to get one of those.
Then I did what many first buyers do, when they buy their first pedigree cat. Found a longhaired cat, which cost way too much money, for a cat that only got a little bit of food when moving. No pedigree, no vaccinations and no deworming. And what to learn from that. That Remonce is a lovely cat, but she is so bad tempered and so not socialized at all. Not that it's always like that, but it is not rear that this is what happens when people make kittens on their cats, without having the right knowledge about the cats that they breed on.
Then my poor, poor Remonce was all alone in the world when her momma was at work for a hole day. And once again a lesson to learn; having one cat isn't a really good idea. So I had to find her a friend. The year I got Remonce I have read and learned a whole lot of pedigree cats. And I discovered that I had paid way to much money for a cat, just because of its long hair. So now I wanted one with pedigree.
We went to a cat show to look for a kitten, and to have a look at that show thing. We drew a bunch of business cards, went home, looked on the internet and fell in love with a blue girl. After waiting for the breeder of the girl, to decide which one of her girls she wanted to use for breeding, we got to know that Meserve Milagro, was moving home to us. We got her in 2007.
Now we have been showing for a couple of years and met a lot of nice cat people. We have got our breeder name Ushoosinu, which we are proud of. Our goal is to learn a lot more of the breed, and in the future we want to breed healthy, beautiful and friendly cats. To the delight of our future kitten buyers and of course other breeders.
Health will always be in front, after that temper and socializing, and last but not least, standard.
We will test all of our breeding cats free for HCM and PKD. We will select after temper.
What to do with a cat you can brush or lift? Or what to do with a Maine Coon if it looks like a forest cat?
It is a bit of a puzzle to get it all right, but we will do our best to make it happen.
All our kittens sold for pet will always be fully vaccinated, neutered and chipped before moving.
